Unveild 03 video installation, dimension variable, 2014
"Unveiled 03" is a video installation exhibited in K-P.O.P | Contemporary Korean Art : Process, Otherness, Play.
K-P.O.P.: Korean Contemporary Art will showcase some of the most celebrated works by 19 renowned Korean artists.
It surveys the practice of contemporary Korean art and Korean culture as a whole. It also hopes to provide the local audience
with the opportunity to discover and understand the diverse landscapes and unique art fabric woven together
by Korean artists today through their distinctive choices of cultural subjects and media.
Although the exhibition could only represent a slice of the Korean art world, it still offers us an assessment framework
and possible imagination for its future development and potentials.

Unveiled 03 is a video installation. This installation is specifically designed to the venue
which is the corridor space of the Taipei MOCA(Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art).
This building has its long history goes further back than 1920.
It was built during the period of Japanese rule in 1921 as an Elementary School.
After WWII, it hosted the Taipei city government and became an important landmark.
After the city government had moved to the new location, it was designated as a historical building, and re-opened in May 2001
as Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei (MOCA Taipei), as the first museum in Taiwan to be dedicated exclusively to contemporary art.
The venue’s history and its victorian style architecture make strange harmony with the contemporary artworks.
The building itself has a unique atmosphere composed of multiple layers of history, aesthetic, and discourses.
I found it very attractive and decided to use the corridor space for the installation.
This simple yet perceptually ambiguous installation generates a feeling as if the audience encounters a passage led to the another dimension.
